About Us
PET is formed as a result of polycondensation of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid (or its dimethyl ether). It is white and opaque substance in a crystalline state. At a temperature of 70 ° C it transforms into transparent state and remains as such as a result of rapid cooling.

AzEkol is one of the leading companies in the market of recycled polymers market. The main direction of our activity is recycling of PET bottles collected at landfills. Today, recycling of polymers and manufacture of products on this basis is becoming increasingly popular. This demand is primarily due to the relatively low cost and abundance of raw material. The main objective of our company is to fully meet the demand of customers in recycled polymers.

Recycling of plastic bottles serves the environmental agenda and at the same time greatly improves the efficiency of enterprises specialized in manufacture of polymer products, as use of recycled PET significantly reduces the cost of end products. The main challenge in the business of recycling PET bottles – is their collation. Collating bottles at landfills is very labour intense activity, and the material collated this way is generally highy contaminated. Prior to actual recycling of PET, the raw materials must be cleaned and washed, which increases the cost of recycling. Although the raw material obtained this way is of low quality, it has high demand on the market.

Polyethylene terephthalate - thermoplastic synthetic linear polymer belonging to the class of polyesters. The polycondensation product of terephthalic

acid and monoethylene glycol. Polyethylene has the ability to exist in an amorphous or crystallized state, wherein the degree of crystallinity determined by thermal history of the material. Polyethylene terephtalate becomes amorphous as a result of rapid cooling and crystallized as a result of slow cooling. Amorphous polyethylene terephthalate is solid transparent material, crystallized – hard, opaque and colorless material. The degree of crystallinity can be adjusted by annealing at a temperature between the glass transition temperature and melting point. Commodity polyethylene terephthalate is manufactured in the form of polyethylene granulate with grain size of 2-4 mm.

In commercial scale PET began to be produced as a fiber-forming polymer, but it soon became one of the leading products in the industry of polymer packaging. Currently PET is the fastest growing polymer material in terms of consumption growth. Fiber-forming polyethylene terephthalate is known in the market under the trade marks Lavsan or Polyester.
